Barcelona's Pedri is calling for UEFA to investigate referee Szymon Marciniak after their 4-3 loss to Inter Milan in the Champions League semi-final second leg. Pedri expressed frustration over several decisions, including ¹ ²:

- *No second yellow card for Henrikh Mkhitaryan*: Mkhitaryan committed a cynical tackle on Lamine Yamal, which Pedri believed warranted a second yellow card and subsequent ejection.

- *Overturned penalty*: A penalty awarded to Barcelona for a foul on Lamine Yamal was overturned by VAR, with Pedri questioning the consistency of the refereeing.

- *50-50 decisions*: Pedri claimed that all 50-50 decisions went in Inter's favor, which he found hard to explain.

Other contentious incidents included ²:

- *Denzel Dumfries' potential foul*: A possible foul by Dumfries on Gerard Martin wasn't called, potentially leading to Inter's equalizing goal.

- *Francesco Acerbi's handball*: Barcelona had a penalty appeal turned down when Acerbi blocked a cross with his hand, though replays showed it was a natural movement.

Manager Hansi Flick shared Pedri's sentiments, stating that the result was "unfair" due to some refereeing decisions, particularly highlighting that every 50-50 decision went in Inter's favor. Barcelona defender Eric Garcia hinted at Marciniak's troubling history, especially regarding decisions favoring Real Madrid ³ ¹ ⁴.

A former FIFA referee, Rafał Rostkowski, defended Marciniak, shifting the blame to Dutch VAR referee Dennis Higler for the overturned penalty decision. UEFA has not confirmed any formal investigation into the matter as of now ⁵.
