Vinicius Jr set to extend Real Madrid contract until 2030, earning €20m per season – reports

 

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing to finalise a long-term contract extension for Brazilian superstar Vinicius Jr, with a lucrative deal that would keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until 2030. According to AS, the agreement has already been reached in principle, but the official announcement has been delayed due to the club’s current focus on the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

The new contract marks a significant milestone in Vinicius’s career. At just 24 years old, the winger is set to become one of the highest-paid players in world football, with a reported net salary of €20 million per season. Over five years, that translates into a massive €100 million payday—exclusive of bonuses and image rights.

Vinicius’s new wages represent a €5 million increase from his current salary, reflecting his growing stature in both Real Madrid’s squad and the global football stage. However, the payment will be structured on a progressive scale—starting with a slightly lower amount in the first year before gradually increasing each season.

The contract will also feature substantial performance-based bonuses. These include rewards for winning individual accolades such as The Best FIFA Men’s Player and the Ballon d’Or, as well as financial incentives tied to scoring milestones and team achievements.

Once signed, the deal will make Vinicius Jr the highest-paid player in the Real Madrid squad, surpassing the earnings of Kylian Mbappe, who currently earns €15 million annually. Although Mbappe’s deal includes a substantial signing bonus, Vinicius’s consistent salary over time reflects the club’s faith in his long-term contribution.

This will be Vinicius Jr’s third official contract with Los Blancos. The Brazilian initially joined Real Madrid in 2017 from Flamengo, with his first deal becoming active in 2018 when he turned 18. He renewed his contract in 2023, but this new extension firmly cements his future with the club through the end of the decade.

In extending Vinicius’s stay, Real Madrid are building a core of young talents to lead the club into a new era. Players like Arda Güler, Endrick, Lunin, and recent acquisition Trent Alexander-Arnold are all tied to the club until at least 2030. Trent’s deal runs even longer, with a contract set to expire in 2031.

If all goes as planned, the official unveiling of the contract extension will take place shortly after the conclusion of the Club World Cup. A ceremony is expected at the Santiago Bernabéu, possibly alongside similar announcements for other renewals or new signings.

Whether or not Vinicius can maintain his explosive form over the next five years remains to be seen. But what’s clear is that Real Madrid believe he can—and they’re willing to back that belief with one of the most valuable contracts in the club’s history.
